Here's another maker feature.
What's your background? My background is in strategy & finance, as well as artisan food operations and indulgence.
What inspired the development of your company? The inspiration for Shurky Jurky came primarily from these three sources: a college buddy’s grandfather, a desire to create something with devotion to seeing it through, and a passion for smoked meats, CrossFit and the whole Paleo thing.
What's next for SJ? We want to do for dried-meat snacks with artisan & local foods what Cliff Bar did for women with Luna Bar. Feel free to hit us up with questions about specifics. You can email email@example.com.
What advice do you have for other entrepreneurs considering a food start-up? Save your money. Really think through your approach. It's going to be a long grind.
Where can people find your goods beside, With Love, From PDX pop-up gift boxes? Locally, in Portland, our LUXURY JURKY is available at New Seasons Grant Park at NE 33rd & Broadway and Elephants Deli at NW 22nd & Burnside as well as Fancy That, a gift shop in Hillsboro. We are also available at Newport Avenue Market in Bend and Boda's Kitchen in Hood River.
